Jean-Claude Ramonet

Jean-Claude Ramonet is a wine producer based in Chassagne-Montrachet, one of Burgundy's most celebrated white wine villages on the Côte de Beaune. The domaine is connected to the broader Ramonet family winemaking tradition in the village, though Jean-Claude operates as a distinct producer. The focus is exclusively on white wines made from Chardonnay, the defining grape of white Burgundy.

Chassagne-Montrachet occupies a privileged position on the limestone-rich slopes of the Côte de Beaune, where the combination of Bathonian and Oxfordian limestone soils with Chardonnay produces wines of notable structure and mineral character. The village is home to several grand cru and premier cru sites, and its premiers crus are recognized for delivering wines that balance richness with a firm, age-worthy backbone. Wines from this appellation typically show notes of white stone fruit, hazelnut, and a saline or chalky minerality that reflects the terroir.

The current range includes a Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru from the Les Vergers lieu-dit. Les Vergers is a well-regarded premier cru climat situated on the upper slopes of the village, known for producing wines with good acidity and a more tightly wound, mineral-driven profile compared to some of the richer, lower-slope sites.
