Santa Margherita is an Italian wine producer based primarily in the Alto Adige region of Trentino Alto-Adige, though they also source fruit from Veneto. The winery produces both still and sparkling wines, focusing particularly on white wine varieties and Prosecco production across multiple Italian appellations.

Alto Adige represents Italy's northernmost wine region, where the cool Alpine climate and varied soils create ideal conditions for producing crisp, mineral-driven white wines. The region's high altitude vineyards and significant diurnal temperature variation help preserve natural acidity in the grapes, resulting in wines with bright freshness and aromatic intensity. Prosecco DOC, spanning parts of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is Italy's premier sparkling wine appellation, where the Glera grape produces wines ranging from bone-dry Brut to off-dry Extra Dry styles.

Santa Margherita's current range demonstrates their focus on two key Italian varieties: Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige DOC and Glera-based Prosecco. Their Pinot Grigio represents the Alto Adige style of this variety, typically showing more structure and mineral character than examples from warmer Italian regions. Their sparkling wine production includes both Prosecco DOC and the premium Superiore di Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, the latter representing one of Prosecco's most esteemed subzones.
