Les Domaines Edmond de Rothschild is a wine estate operating in Bordeaux, France, producing red wines from vineyards in the Haut-Médoc and Saint-Émilion appellations. The estate is part of the broader Rothschild family's wine interests, though distinct from other Rothschild properties in Bordeaux. Their production focuses on traditional Bordeaux varietals across multiple appellations on both the Left and Right Bank of the Gironde.

The Haut-Médoc appellation, where part of their production is based, sits within the larger Médoc region on Bordeaux's Left Bank. This area is known for well-structured red wines typically dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, often blended with Merlot and other Bordeaux varietals. The gravelly soils and maritime climate of the Haut-Médoc provide favorable conditions for producing wines with good aging potential and classic Bordeaux character.

The estate's current range includes wines from both Haut-Médoc and Montagne Saint-Émilion, working primarily with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their portfolio notably includes kosher-certified wines, indicating specialized production methods that adhere to Jewish dietary laws while maintaining traditional Bordeaux winemaking principles.

Bordeaux, in the southwest of France, needs little introduction as one of the world's most famous, prestigious and prolific wine regions. The majority of Bordeaux wines (nearly 90 percent of production volume) are the dry, medium- and full-bodied red Bordeaux Blends that established its reputation.

The finest (and most expensive) of these are the wines from the great châteaux of the Haut-Médoc and the Right Bank appellations Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The former is focused (at the top level) on Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter pair on on Merlot.

The legendary reds are complemented by high-quality white wines based on Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. These range from dry whites to challenge the best from the Burgundy region (Pessac-Léognan is particularly renowned) to the sweet, botrytized nectars of Sauternes.
