A brilliant wine, Bollinger's 2013 Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes Françaises is finer boned and more elegant than the powerhouse 2008, but it is still one of the most powerful, intensely flavored wines produced in the region. Wafting from the glass with a deep bouquet of golden orchard fruit, honeycomb, baking spices, orange oil and ripe stone fruits, it's full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with a layered core of fruit girdled by racy acids. Concentrated and vinous, it concludes with a long, saline finish.
98 Points - The Wine Advocate Bollinger’s 2006 Brut Vieilles Vignes Francaises isn’t really Champagne, nor is it a wine. Rather it is an extraordinary and frankly addicting concoction all its own. Endowed with the most refined mousse imaginable and endless layers of fruit, the 2002 VVF captivates both the hedonistic and intellectual senses to the fullest. Waves of subtle red fruit, smoke, mint and incense appear to be virtually endless, but at the same time, it is the wine’s textural richness that stands out the most. With time in the glass the 2002 just gets better and better. Readers fortunate to have the discretionary income needed to purchase the 2002 VVF should not hesitate. It is a once in a lifetime treat for most mortals! Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.

Bollinger - Vieilles Vignes Françaises - Blanc de Noirs

Bollinger's Vieilles Vignes Françaises Blanc de Noirs is a rare and exceptional champagne that is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the historic vineyards of Aÿ. This champagne is a true expression of the terroir and the expertise of the Bollinger family, who have been producing champagne since 1829.

The taste profile of this champagne is rich and complex, with notes of red fruit, brioche, and honey. The bubbles are fine and persistent, creating a creamy texture on the palate. The finish is long and elegant, with a hint of minerality that adds to the complexity of the wine.

The history of the producer is steeped in tradition and excellence. Bollinger is one of the few remaining family-owned champagne houses, and their commitment to quality is evident in every bottle they produce. The Vieilles Vignes Françaises Blanc de Noirs is a testament to their dedication to preserving the heritage of the Aÿ vineyards and the art of champagne making.

This champagne is perfect for special occasions and celebrations, and pairs well with rich and decadent dishes such as foie gras, truffles, and caviar. It is also a great accompaniment to seafood and sushi, as well as creamy cheeses such as brie and camembert. Enjoy it in a flute or a white wine glass, and savor every sip of this exceptional champagne.

In 1668, Dom Pérignon is said to have discovered how to make sparkling wine; today his technique is used the world over, although Champagne continues to make some of the finest. France’s most northerly wine region, Champagne is now home to 15,000 growers and 290 ‘houses’. A blend of grape varieties is usually required: white Chardonnay to add fruit and elegance, and two reds – Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – to provide body and backbone.
