Enticing aromas of brown sugar and vanilla custard entwine with a bright citrus note reminiscent of home-made lemon curd. The palate is layered with ripe golden peaches and caramelised figs, while being driven by a seam of flinty minerality. There is an earthy richness, evoking thoughts of freshly cut hay, roasted nuts and faint whiffs of wood smoke. A wine with hidden charms, tight structure and excellent ageing potential.
The 2019 Chardonnay leads with a spicy, savory nose of salted ripe yellow peach, preserved citrus, crushed rocks and wet limestone. In the mouth, the wine is fulsome and complete, with wall-to-wall flavor that lingers after the wine is gone. There's something obvious about the Mendoza clone flavours, but I'll admit I like it very much. Good wine here.
Struck flint and hints of sweet corn and toasted grain accent white peaches and ripe pineapple on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied but comes across as fresh and lively, with a crisp, mouthwatering finish.
With a gorgeous apricot, guava and pink grapefruit-scented nose, plus suggestions of cedar, struck match and honeyed toast, the 2014 Chardonnay fills the mouth with rich butterscotch, oak and stone fruit flavors, complimented by a satiny texture and a lively backnbone, finishing long.
The 2021 Chardonnay leads with a nutty, spicy nose, loads of savory curry leaf, a nice flinty reduction and crushed nuts. It’s a brilliant wine with lovely flow. Superb. A mix of Mendoza clone and 95, it was pressed to barrel with 100% solids.

Greywacke is a renowned producer of fine wines based in Marlborough, New Zealand. Founded in 2009 by Kevin Judd, the winery is named after the type of sandstone that is commonly found in the region's vineyards. Greywacke has gained a reputation for producing some of the most exceptional wines in New Zealand and has won numerous accolades for its efforts.

The history of Greywacke dates back to the early 1990s when Kevin Judd began his career as the winemaker for Cloudy Bay, one of the leading producers of Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough. Kevin Judd was instrumental in establishing the reputation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc as one of the world's great wine styles. In 2003, Kevin Judd left Cloudy Bay to establish his own wine brand, and in 2009, he launched Greywacke.

Greywacke focuses on producing wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay grapes. The grapes are sourced from a range of vineyards across Marlborough, each with its unique microclimate and soil type, which adds to the complexity of the wines. The vineyards are carefully managed to ensure that the fruit is of the highest quality, and the wines are made using traditional techniques combined with modern technology.

The Sauvignon Blanc wines from Greywacke are the most famous. They are known for their intense aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, passionfruit, and gooseberries. The wines have a bright, zesty acidity that makes them refreshing and perfect for enjoying with seafood or as an aperitif. The Pinot Noir wines from Greywacke are also highly regarded. They are elegant, with a soft and silky texture, and flavors of red fruits and spices. The Chardonnay wines from Greywacke are complex and rich, with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and oak.

Greywacke's winemaking philosophy is all about creating wines that reflect the unique terroir of Marlborough. The winery aims to produce wines that are expressive, balanced, and reflective of the vintage. The winemaking process involves minimal intervention, and the wines are fermented using natural yeasts. This approach allows the wines to develop their unique character, and it is the reason why Greywacke's wines are so highly regarded.

In conclusion, Greywacke is a world-renowned producer of fine wines that are reflective of the unique terroir of Marlborough.
