Tasting notes

Another arrival from the US, where specialist gins made in microdistilleries across the country have really invigorated what was a previously moribund category. Death's Door is made with organic red winter wheat on Washington Island in Wisconsin, and has been bottled at a higher-than-usual strength, so use a bit less or add more tonic. Death's Door Gin has a surprisingly simple botanical mix of juniper berries, coriander and fennel. Using a mix of juniper berries that includes the wild juniper of Washington Island with coriander and fennel seeds, Death's Door Gin is able to showcase how complementary and complex simple expressions can be.

About this gin

Death's Door Gin

Death's Door Gin is a premium gin that is perfect for those who appreciate a smooth and complex taste profile. Made with a unique blend of botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander, and fennel, this gin has a distinct flavour that is both refreshing and satisfying.

The history of the producer, Death's Door Spirits, is rooted in the rich agricultural heritage of Washington Island, Wisconsin. The company was founded in 2005 by a group of farmers who were looking for a way to add value to their crops. They decided to create a line of spirits that would showcase the unique flavours of the region, and Death's Door Gin was born.

When it comes to enjoying Death's Door Gin, there are many options. It is perfect for sipping on its own, but it also makes a great base for cocktails. Try it in a classic gin and tonic, or mix it with fresh citrus and herbs for a more complex flavour profile.
