Tasting notes

This Glenlivet Single Malt has undergone a long aging of at least 13 years in first fill American oak barrels. This maturation brings a perfect osmosis between the spirit and the barrel which brings a lot of aromas of vanilla and honey. The result is a whiskey with a fruity profile, typical of The Glenlivet House, accompanied by notes of chocolate and vanilla. This 13-year-old Glenlivet is exclusive to the French market.

About this whisky

Glenlivet is a renowned Scottish distillery that has been producing some of the finest single malt whiskies for over two centuries. Founded in 1824 by George Smith, Glenlivet is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, which is known for its high-quality whiskies.

The Glenlivet 13-year-old is a single malt whisky that has been aged for 13 years in oak casks. This whisky has a rich and complex flavour profile, with notes of honey, vanilla, and fruit. The oak casks used in the ageing process impart a subtle smokiness to the whisky, which adds to its depth and complexity.

Glenlivet is known for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship, and this is evident in the production process of the 13-year-old whisky. The distillery uses only the finest ingredients, including locally sourced barley and water from the nearby Josie's Well. The whisky is then distilled in copper pot stills, which are designed to produce a smooth and consistent spirit.

Once the whisky has been distilled, it is aged in oak casks for a minimum of 13 years. During this time, the whisky takes on the flavours and aromas of the oak, which adds to its complexity and depth. The casks used in the ageing process are carefully selected to ensure that they impart the desired flavour profile to the whisky.

Overall, the Glenlivet 13-year-old is a superb single malt whisky that is sure to impress even the most discerning whisky connoisseur. Its rich and complex flavour profile, combined with its commitment to quality and craftsmanship, make it a true masterpiece of Scottish whisky production.
