The Chambolle-Musigny has a detailed bouquet, complex as you would expect from such a propitious vineyard, touches of chalk and granite infusing the red and black fruit, beautifully focused and gaining intensity all the time in the glass. The palate is medium bodied with supple tannin, tensile and focused, full of energy with a structured, more masculine finish than I was anticipating. Therefore, it will need several years in bottle but should turn out to be a long-term contender. Expect it to land at the top of my banded score post-bottling.

Vines situated in the heart of the village give this wine its ripe, generous berry flavor. The tannins, while firm, are integrated into the bold fruitiness. This round while structured wine has good acidity to balance the richness.

Chardonnay er den primære drue til hvidvin i Bourgogne og udgør 48 % af vinstokkene og 68 % af produktionen. Chardonnay sætter pris på Bourgognes mergeljord, som giver den delikate blomster-, frugt- og mineralaromaer og en fyldig smag. Aligoté er den anden hvide drue og tegner sig for 6 % af produktionen. {Læs mere om den gamle Aligoté-drue i Bourgogne.}
