A muscular, youthfully structured wine, the 2020 Gazin unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, vine smoke, spices and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and powerful, with ample reserves of powdery tannin that will require a bit of patience in bottle.
This 2017 vintage of Château Gazin is adorned with a pretty dark, intense, purple colour. Its nose delivers generous aromas of red and black fruits (plums, blueberries, blackcurrant), which when ripe will open up to notes of spices, truffles, undergrowth and animal scents. On the palate, the attack is soft, mellow and silky. The palate is slightly full-bodied, very tasty, the tannins are ample, leading to a long finish.
The 2014 Gazin was stubborn and broody when tasted in bottle, but give it a few swirls and there comes forth gravel and black truffle scents alongside sultry black fruit. These aromatics are so engaging and involving, drawing you in towards it charms. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and taut with great precision and sappiness towards the focused, almost symmetrical, black truffle-laced finish. This continues Gazin's fine run of form, a great Pomerol from an estate predisposed these days to create sophisticated, classic wines.
The 2012 Gazin has a complex, quite mercurial bouquet that seems quite confit in style at the moment. After five minutes it offers raspberry coulis, wild strawberry, marmalade and minerals. You could nose this all day! The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, beautifully balanced with a harmony all its own. It glides across the mouth, so much so that it almost belies the structure underneath. This is seriously good—a top-drawer Pomerol with long-term ambitions. It may warrant an even higher score in the future. This is one to watch.
A powerful, virile 2011, Gazin reveals a dense ruby/purple color, a big, meaty, earthy richness, lots of coffee, black cherry liqueur and spice notes, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. It will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring and should keep for 15+ years.
Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Gazin charges out of the gate with bold boysenberries, baked plums and Christmas cake notes plus hints of unsmoked cigars and bouquet garni. Full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with baked black fruit, framed by firm, ambitious tannins, finishing long and mineral tinged.
A big, backward, full-bodied Pomerol, the 2000 Gazin appears to have added weight as well as structure. Still young, it exhibits beautiful notes of sandy, loamy soil intermixed with mulberries, black cherries, cedar, and licorice. Tightly wound, powerful, and rich, with noticeable oak, it needs another 3-5 years of bottle age, and should drink well for two decades.
A dense ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of charred wood, coffee, blackberry and cherry fruit, and new saddle leather. Full-bodied, dense, chewy, and intense, this muscular as well as backward vin de garde requires cellaring.

Château Gazin is a renowned wine producer located in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, France. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was owned by the de Baillencourt family. In 1917, the property was purchased by the Soualle family who still own it today.

The vineyards of Château Gazin cover 26 hectares and are planted with a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils are predominantly clay and gravel, which provide excellent drainage and contribute to the unique character of the wines.

Château Gazin is known for producing rich, full-bodied wines with a deep ruby color and complex aromas of black fruit, spice, and earth. The wines are aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months, which adds layers of complexity and depth to the final product.

The estate produces several different wines, including the flagship Château Gazin, which is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine is known for its elegance and balance, with a long, smooth finish. The second wine, L'Hospitalet de Gazin, is made from younger vines and is a more approachable wine that can be enjoyed in its youth.

århundrede, at Pomerol begyndte at blive anerkendt for sine vine.
