2015 gave Piemonte’s winemakers a classic, structured vintage, and this ’15 Rossj-Bass reflects its vintage in its exquisite balance and grace. There’s a perfect marriage of ripeness and acidity, juiciness and energy, and suppleness and jauntiness in this nicely delineated Piemonte white. Succulent stone and tropical fruits dance with citrus, crushed flowers, fresh-cut herbs, and toasted nuts in this bright, round ’15 Rossj-Bass bottling. Named for Angelo Gaja's youngest daughter, Rossana, known as Rossj for short, this Chardonnay derives from the Rossj vineyard as well as several other estate-owned vineyards that range along Piemonte’s swirling hills. Rossj-Bass ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel and then ages for six to seven months in barrique to create an elegant, balanced wine with admirable depth, adequate acidity and fine persistence.
