This is a highly-concentrated, dark cherry-red wine. A lively, delicate nose with liquorice and leather aromas, with hints of black pepper. It keeps the essential aromas of fruit compote. It is ample and fleshy and has elegance, complexity and power. On the palate, it shows soft tannins and liquorice, a velvety structure and a long, delicious and persistent finish. Red meats, stews, game, cured cheeses.”
In 2001 Javier Galarreta sought to expand his wine export portfolio, Araex, so he reached out to French winemaker Michel Rolland and invited him to be part of an innovative project where France met Spain. Michel Rolland is one of the most influential winemakers in the world and works as a consultant for hundreds of international estates, including Château Pape Clément, Château Angélus and Ornellaia. His expertise combined with Javier’s vision led to the birth of Rolland & Galarreta. Their vision, ‘to give prestige to the great wines of Spain throughout the world.”
