Camartina is made and released only if the vintage reaches a very high quality level.
95 Points, Antonio Galloni : “The 2013 Camartina is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, all from the Ruffoli sub-zone of Greve. It’s much less international in style than it used to be, or perhaps the Cabernet over the years has become domestic. Dense, creamy and beautifully textured in the glass, but in the restrained style that characterizes Querciabella’s wines today, the 2013 is a real winner. Even at this early stage, it’s is all finesse. I can’t wait to taste it with a few years of bottle age.”
Onshore Cellars - ICONIC Producer
Querciabella was founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni at the beginning of the Super Tuscan wine movement and is now in the hands of his son Sebastiano. A lover of fine wine, Sebastiano’s passion for great winemaking combined with his uncompromising vision has meant that Querciabella has quickly established itself as one of the leading wineries in Italy, earning acclaim from the world’s most discriminating critics.
Querciabella has vineyards located throughout Tuscany’s Chianti Classico and Meremma regions. Sebastiano’s strong commitment to the environment inspired him to convert the winery to biodynamics in 2000 and all of the wines are 100% vegan. Indeed, Querciabella has one of the largest biodynamic vineyard holdings in all of Italy. The full range consists of seven different wines, reflecting the diversity of Tuscan terroir.
