Beaune Clos des Mouches white 2017 Domaine Joseph Drouhin is a Premier Cru made from the Chardonnay grape (100%). The name "Clos des Mouches" comes from the fact that this sunny enclosure housed beehives, and bees were once called "honey flies".
The color is a brilliant pale yellow. The floral nose is complex: white lilac, white rose. Once more open, fruity aromas emerge, which evolve into intense notes of hazelnut and toasted almonds. For those who have reached maturity, the nose surprises with its power, after about fifteen minutes of ventilation: white truffle, citron, honey, nutmeg respond to each other with a singular elegance. On the palate, the wine has liveliness. You can feel the richness but also the structure and a certain minerality. The wine has fat without ever being heavy, it gives a beautiful fullness at the end of the mouth. We find the complexity and elegance of a Bâtard-Montrachet, harmoniously combined with the fullness of a Corton-Charlemagne. Exceptional wine !!
It can be enjoyed at 13-14 ° C with snails, a fillet of sole with cream, or a poultry terrine.
