Tasting notes

91 Points - The Wine Advocate

"Medium ruby colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir exudes lovely floral notes of roses and lavender with a core of cranberries and red currants, plus hints of Provence herbs and fragrant earth. Light to medium-bodied, soft, elegant and filled with earthy/perfumed flavor layers, it delivers great expression and poise." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

About the Producer

The Greywacke portfolio is primarily based on two varieties, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, the sauvignon blanc being produced in two distinctly different styles. In addition to this core range of three wines, there are also limited edition releases of chardonnay, and three aromatic varieties – pinot gris, riesling and gewurztraminer. Kevin’s signature vineyard photographs provide the unmistakable identity of the Greywacke range.

    About the Producer

Founded in 2009, Greywacke is Kevin Judd's Marlborough label, and fulfilling a long dream. The name of Greywacke was adopted by Kevin and his wife Kimberley for their first Marlborough vineyard in recognition of the high prevalence of rounded Greywacke River stones in vineyard soils.
Judd was the founder winemaker of Cloudy Bay and directed their first 25 vintages. He played a key role in establishing the region's reputation and developing the style of wine that has become synonymous with Marlborough wines; piercing mineralization, deep acidity and aromatic expressions.
