"The vibrant, golden/citrus-coloured NV Grande Réserve Brut – a blend of Chardonnay (43%), Pinot Noir (42%) and Pinot Meunier (15%) – opens with a rich, ripe and intense, yet elegant and distinguished bouquet of sweet cherries, yellow plums, brioches, lemons and a hint of nougat. Round and intense on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, elegant and mouth-filling Brut. It has charming cherry fruit, and nice freshness and grip in the finish. There are lovely herbal aromas in the aftertaste. This is the generous classic of the Gosset portfolio." SR

In 1668, Dom Pérignon is said to have discovered how to make sparkling wine; today his technique is used the world over, although Champagne continues to make some of the finest. France’s most northerly wine region, Champagne is now home to 15,000 growers and 290 ‘houses’. A blend of grape varieties is usually required: white Chardonnay to add fruit and elegance, and two reds – Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – to provide body and backbone.
