”There are notes of red cherries intermixed with the more classical blackberries and tobacco leaves, spices and cigar box aromas; it is very subtle, layered and complex, even though the wine shows very young. The result is a fresher wine with moderate alcohol and the oak feels better integrated, even though it's still mostly new. Here the conditions of the vintage played in flavor of obtaining fresher, more balanced wines. There are the telltale Cabernet tannins, very polished and fine, but with grip; the texture is velvety, lifted by a fine thread of acidity." Luis Gutiérrez

”The 2012 Vinedo Chadwick is a wine from Alto Maipo, a separate vineyard from their Aconcagua ones in the classic Cabernet Sauvignon producing region, which is the only grape used here. The vineyards have alluvial soils with clay that are ideal for the variety. In 2012, this wine has good acidity and feels classic and elegant, poised and harmonious, a noble bottling with fine-grained tannin and good structure. Juicy without being clumsy, it seems as though the deeper soils are good at absorbing the heat of the vintage, and this combination works well. A powerful, Old World-styled Cabernet Sauvignon.“ Luis Gutiérrez

”The nose shows hints of complexity, with fresh but ripe red fruit, balsamic notes of black pepper, a layer of toasted, smoky oak notes of coffee that needs to be integrated, and a remarkable absence of herbaceous notes, especially for a cold vintage like 2011. The tannins are extremely fine, silky, and velvety, the flavors are pure and defined, with great intensity and balanced acidity. This doesn-t look like a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it-s getting closer to a wine of terroir. This is a great wine that should get even better in the future as the vineyards mature and the mix gains complexity.” Luis Gutiérrez

”The 2010 Vinedo Chadwick has a sophisticated bouquet, with pure dark cherry, iodine and blueberry aromas the waft gently from the glass. The palate is smooth and toasty on the entry. There is a lot of oak here, but it has the fruit to support it, while the finish maintains impressive definition and structure. Drink 2015-2025.” Luis Gutiérrez

In the last few years, Errazuriz has been recognised as perhaps the single top quality producer of Chilean wines. Its wines were either the top-rated or shared the top rating in the last major Chilean reviews from the Wine Spectator, the Wine Advocate, and Tanzer.

As an estate winery, Viña Errazuriz strives to produce the finest wines by controlling every stage of the winemaking process, from grape growing in the Aconcagua, Casablanca and Curico valleys, to winemaking with the most natural techniques. An emphasis is placed on the delicate handling of the wines, with the aim of producing wines with elegance and complexity. It is this dynamism and passion for wine that has made Errazuriz such an internationally respected producer of quality wines.

Few have done more to promote Chilean wine than Eduardo Chadwick, most notably with his blind comparisons with First Growths. In my opinion, what this estate will produce in the next twenty years will completely surpass the previous twenty years.” Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
