"Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Vegemite notes on the nose – not unpleasant. A bit malty too. Then tomato ketchup. Intense and intriguing on the nose. Very attractive sweet package with the acid a little dominant. Big mouthful! Very slight oak dominance becomes a bit too rasping on the finish. This is the lavish new producer about which I have written already which makes some great Syrah and is attempting a portfolio of top wines from all over New Zealand. I was much more impressed by this wine and The Quarry from this extremely well-funded new producer when I tasted them last May in isolation." - Jancis Robinson

Onshore Cellars - ICONIC Producer

Craggy Range is a family owned winery established in 1997 and situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the premium wine growing area of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.

Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from multiple regions throughout the country. Owner Terry Peabody and his family pursued the single vineyard approach to winemaking, planting on green fields and bare land ensuring a focus on quality from the very beginning.

New Zealand, with its diversity of soil types offered the perfect location to plant the vines. From the stony, warm soils of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke's Bay to the volcanic, clay soils of Te Muna Road in Martinborough these exceptional vineyards produce wines with amazing aromatics, purity and complexity.

The wines, produced for the Prestige and Family Collections are pure expressions of the unique terroir in which they were grown.
