This is one of the most interesting wines to come from the Vittoria area of Sicily. The 2017 Frappato is tonic and sharp, linear and direct. This wine reveals more depth and nuances than you might expect. It always renders a naked, authentic and transparent expression. The winemakers at COS have added their own little tweaks with touches of balsam herb and bitter almond that appear randomly along the way. This wine is only aged in cement, no oak is used.

It was in 1980 that three young friends - Giambattista Cilia, Cirino Strano and Giusto Occhipinti - they founded the COS estate, thus opening a path which, in the years to come, would undoubtedly have had a very strong influence on non-wine growing not only in Sicily but also throughout the Italian peninsula.
They are located exactly in Vittoria, in the heart of one of the most important denominations of the island, that of Cerasuolo, the only DOCG of the Sicilian territory. It was here that the newly created COS estate almost immediately began to follow the principles of biodynamic viticulture.
Today COS wines can tell an ancient story, far removed from the fashions and commercial logic of the moment, and closely linked to what is the true essence of the Sicilian lands. Wines like "Maldafrica" or "Nero di Lupo", "Ramì" or "Pithos", without forgetting of course the Cerasuolo di Vittoria. Wines that speak of sun and warmth, of nature and respect for the oldest local traditions.
