From French distiller Comte de Grasse comes its inaugural gin, 44°N! The spirit has been inspired by perfume production methods, and is made using ultrasonic maceration, vacuum distillation and CO2 supercritical extraction. That all sounds very high tech and fancy, but in fact these techniques are also incredibly sustainable and efficient. The list of botanicals is extensive, with cade (a species of juniper), verbena, everlasting (a golden flower), horse parsley, samphire, lavender, mimosa, grapefruit, patchouli and Sichuan pepper among a few of them. The gin is inspired by the Mediterranean, so it's no surprise that the brilliant blue bottle evokes images of the Côte d'Azur.
Woody juniper and a pinch of salt, with a burst of sweet and bitter citrus followed by an aromatic floral bouquet, a creamy note on the finish supported by warming pepper spice.
