  • 90 Points - The Wine Advocate

”The 2014 Marquis-de-Terme offers strawberry preserve and raspberry coulis on the nose, quite pure and generous, though I would like to see more mineralité and terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. The oak needs to fully knit on the entry, though there is sufficient fruit to absorb that with time, and the finish feels caressing in the mouth. If this can foster more terroir expression, more personality, then it will merit a higher score. It's like a film director yelling at the actress... give me more!" Robert Parker

  • ”A ripe, woodsy wine with plenty of forest floor, black currant, cherry and dusty, loamy soil notes, this wine is showing quite well, with medium to full-bodied, silky tannins and a long finish. It should certainly last for 20+ years." Robert Parker

Owned by Famille Sénéclauze, Château Marquis de Terme is a 35ha property producing on average around 13,000 cases per year. The property sits in the centre of the Margaux appellation and as such shares a similar climate to that in the Médoc with it's vineyards protected from the westerly & north-westerly winds by the coastal pine forests and the temperature regulated by the Gironde estuary & the Bay of Biscay. A 4ème Cru Classé, the vineyards are planted with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
