A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. The nose has notes of oak, mocha, forest fruits and liquorice. A long and concentrated palate, with rich and elegant tannins and a beautiful freshness which characterises the wines from Pic Saint Loup.
The long overlooked style and quality of this increasingly fashionable appellation has been recognised with the ‘Grand Cru de Languedoc’ status. The Durand and Valentin families are now recognised as one of the leading producers in the region, producing a mouthwatering rosé and a lush, velvety reds.
From its dominant hilltop position, Château de Lancyre looks back over several centuries of history. From the outset, they aimed to produce quality wines. They were part of a small group of local wine growers who helped each other and founded the Pic Saint Loup appellation. The oldest parts of the property date back to the 12th century, as evidenced by the château’s mullioned window and columns. Château de Lancyre extends over 75 hectares of vines and has a team of 10 employees.
