Agricola Punica - Montessu - Isola dei Nuraghi IGT

Tasting notes
Carignano, of Spanish origin and the blend’s predominant grape, has found its perfect terroir in the warm, well-exposed Sardinian terrain. The grapes come from vines grown in the Basso Sulcis region on calcareous clay and sand soil. Hand harvested whole bunches are destemmed, crushed and macerated on the skins for several days prior to fermentation in stainless steel vats. The wine is oak aged before blending and bottle aging.

Deep ruby in colour, the wine offers intense aromas and flavours of black fruit. It is full-bodied with a velvety texture and balanced tannins.

    Onshore Cellars - ICONIC Producer

Agricola Punica is a story of wine royalty, with some of Italy’s most respected and renowned names coming together to realise a dream of producing incredible wine from Sardinia. Agripunica was created in 2002 by Tenuta San Guido’s Marchese Niccolo Incisa della Rocchetta, Santadi’s wine tycoon Antonello Pilloni and legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis, the father of Super Tuscan wines. The trio set out with the aim of crafting individual wines that would express the unique soils and climate of Sardinia through international grape varieties. The result has been a range of critically acclaimed wines; offering elegance yet power, charm yet strength.
