Tenuta Di Fessina

Tenuta di Fessina is a winery located on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, operating within the Etna DOC appellation. The estate produces wines from vineyards planted on the volcanic soils that characterize this distinctive Sicilian wine region.

The Etna DOC is recognized for its unique terroir, where vineyards are cultivated at elevations ranging from 400 to 1000 meters on the volcanic slopes of Europe's most active volcano. The volcanic ash and pumice soils, combined with significant diurnal temperature variation, create growing conditions that allow for wines with notable minerality and freshness. Tenuta di Fessina works with Catarratto, a white grape variety native to Sicily that is well-suited to the island's climate. Their Erse bottling represents their approach to Etna Bianco DOC, showcasing how this traditional Sicilian variety expresses itself when grown in the distinctive volcanic soils of Mount Etna.
