Ladyburn was een Schotse single malt whisky-distilleerderij in de Lowland-regio van Schotland. De distilleerderij was in bedrijf gedurende een relatief korte periode in de jaren zestig en zeventig voordat deze sloot, waardoor de whiskies bijzonder zeldzaam en gewild zijn bij verzamelaars. Als een Lowland-distilleerderij produceerde Ladyburn whisky in een van Schotlands meest zuidelijke whisky-regio's.

De Lowland-regio staat bekend om single malts die doorgaans lichter, toegankelijker zijn en vaak drievoudig gestookt, wat resulteert in een glad en zacht karakter. Lowland whiskies vertonen over het algemeen delicate smaken met subtiele complexiteit, vaak met toetsen van gras, honing en citrus in plaats van de meer robuuste rook- of maritieme invloeden in andere Schotse regio's. Gezien de korte bedrijfsperiode van de distilleerderij vertegenwoordigen overgebleven flessen Ladyburn historische artefacten van Schotse whisky-productie. De beschikbare expressie is een 42 jaar oude vintage uit 1973, die één van de laatste productiejaren van deze nu stille distilleerderij vertegenwoordigt.

Within the Lowlands, distilleries are scattered across various sub-areas, from the borders near England to coastal locations along the Firth of Forth and Firth of Clyde, each contributing subtle variations in local conditions that can influence whisky character.

Lowland single malt whiskies are typically characterized by their lighter, more delicate profile compared to other Scottish regions, often displaying gentle, grassy, and sometimes floral notes with less peat influence. The region produces both single malt and contributes significantly to blended Scotch whisky production, with many grain distilleries located here. Traditional Lowland whiskies are known for their accessibility and elegance, though individual distilleries can vary considerably in style, from the subtle and refined to more robust expressions that challenge regional stereotypes.
