Slightly smoky and tart, the 2021 Reserve Pinot Noir offers aromas of wild cherry, red flowers and dusty orange rind. Medium-bodied and with 13.5% alcohol, the palate is firm, tannic and spicy with potpourri essence before showcasing notes of crunchy red fruit with a firm backbone of acid. This Pinot will remain food friendly for the next decade.
Unmistakably Pinot, the 2017 Reserve Pinot Noir Begins with soft cherry, wild strawberry and subtle forest floor tones. On the palate, the tannin and earth linger longer than the fruit. The structure of this wine is technically correct, as it has good balance, focused structure, medium body and moderate to long finish. The wine spent 14 months in 30% new oak.
Made from the 115 clones of Pinot Noir, the 2022 Reserve Pinot Noir was produced with 50% whole clusters, offering a bursting, bright and energetic floral nose of roses and potpourri with crunchy red fruit essences. The wine offers incredible depth and complexity while showing freshness and precision. Medium-bodied, it is slightly shy on the palate but will have no challenges finding its stride in the coming year and will easily glide for a decade and a half. Before being bottled, the Reserve Pinot Noir spent one year in 25% new and 75% second and third-fill French oak barrels. I cannot wait to taste this again in five years and am even more anxious for 10 years.
