Hacienda Monasterio is a winery located in the Ribera del Duero appellation within Spain's Castilla y León region. This estate produces red wines in one of Spain's most significant wine regions, situated along the Duero River valley in the country's northern plateau.

Ribera del Duero is renowned for its continental climate with extreme temperature variations between day and night, and hot summers followed by harsh winters. The region's calcareous clay soils and high altitude vineyards, typically ranging from 750 to 900 meters above sea level, create ideal conditions for producing structured, age-worthy red wines. Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto Fino or Tinta del País, dominates plantings here and forms the backbone of the region's wine identity.

Hacienda Monasterio's current range focuses on Reserva-level wines that blend Tempranillo with Cabernet Sauvignon. This combination reflects the region's tradition of enhancing local Tempranillo with international varieties to add structure and complexity. Their Reserva wines undergo extended aging requirements typical of the classification, spending significant time in oak barrels followed by additional bottle aging before release.
