Tasting Notes
Aromas of white flowers, freshly baked bread, citrus oil and oyster shell introduce the 2014 Brut Blanc de Blancs, a medium-bodied, taut and acid-driven wine that's tightly wound and bracingly vibrant, complemented by a youthfully frothy mousse and concluding with a chalky finish. At least to my palate, this is a touch austere right now, but I wouldn't bet against it rounding out with time.
Ridgeview Blanc de Blancs is the only single estate wine solely from Ridgeview’s home Chardonnay vineyard. A delicate pale gold with silvery highlights, persistent bubbles lead to an exceptional mousse. The bouquet is subtle with suggestions of honey and brioche which will become more noticeable with ageing. A refreshing palate with crisp minerality, alongside citrus and white tropical fruits. A beautifully balanced finish that lingers on.
