Methymnaeos is a wine producer located in the beautiful island of Lesbos, Greece. The history of winemaking in Lesbos dates back to ancient times, and Methymnaeos is proud to continue this tradition with their high-quality wines. The winery is situated in the village of Sykamia, where the vineyards benefit from the island's unique microclimate. The soil is rich in volcanic minerals, which gives the wines a distinct character and complexity. Methymnaeos produces a range of wines, including white, red, and rosé. Their white wines are made from the indigenous grape varieties of the island, such as Muscat of Alexandria and Assyrtiko. These wines are crisp and refreshing, with notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Their red wines are made from the grape varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. These wines are full-bodied and rich, with aromas of black fruits, spices, and herbs. The rosé wines are made from the grape variety of Grenache, and are light and fruity, with a delicate pink color. Methymnaeos also produces a unique dessert wine called "Methymnaeos Muscat," which is made from the Muscat of Alexandria grape variety. This wine is sweet and aromatic, with notes of honey, apricot, and orange blossom. The winery uses traditional winemaking techniques, such as hand-harvesting and fermentation in oak barrels, to ensure the highest quality of their wines. They also practice sustainable viticulture, using organic methods to protect the environment and preserve the natural balance of the vineyards. Methymnaeos is a proud ambassador of the winemaking heritage of Lesbos, and their wines are a true reflection of the island's unique terroir and culture.
