Domaine de la Janasse operates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the most celebrated appellation of France's southern Rhône Valley. This family-owned estate produces red wines from vineyards planted on the distinctive galets roulés - the large, rounded stones that characterize much of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's terrain and help retain heat to aid grape ripening.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape permits thirteen grape varieties in its red wine blends, though Grenache typically dominates most cuvées, providing the wines' characteristic warmth and generous fruit character. The appellation's Mediterranean climate and varied soils produce wines known for their power, complexity, and ability to age gracefully. The galets roulés, along with clay and limestone subsoils, contribute to wines that balance richness with structure.

The domaine's current offering showcases their Vieilles Vignes cuvée, which combines Grenache and Syrah from old vines.
