Sour cherry, dried violet and a hint of tobacco leaf on the nose. The palate is generous yet taut, with ripe red fruit, firm, fine-grained tannins and the bright acidity of Sangiovese. Savoury, earthy finish of good length.

This wine absolutely stands out and is poised to evolve carefully over time. The Castello di Radda 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna il Corno (with 5,374 bottles released) is focused and bright with vibrant fruit, cassis, grilled herb and blue flower. Made with Sangiovese only, the wine is true to the grape and to the classic vintage. It remains streamlined and polished on the palate.
