Tasting Notes
This Blanc de Noirs is only made in the best vintages with a combination of their finest pinot grapes. A deep golden colour with a persistent fine stream of bubbles. Rich, earthy red fruit aromas are followed by a complex toasted palate. The finish is long-lasting and beautifully balanced. It shows black cherry and liquorice, is a full, rounded wine with great length.
The 2014 Brut Blanc de Noirs Limited Release is showing well, offering up aromas of pear, cherries, papaya, buttered toast and honeycomb. Medium-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it has a pillowy mousse, succulent acids and a saline finish. This is one of the finest new releases from Ridgeview.
Ridgeview's 2013 Blanc de Noirs is showing very well, wafting from the glass with a complex bouquet of golden orchard fruit, yellow plums, orange rind, toasted bread and smoke. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a delicately textural attack, racy acids and a mouthwateringly sapid finish. A blend of 62% Pinot Noir and 38% Pinot Meunier, this cuvée spent 30-36 months on the lees before disgorgement with eight grams per liter dosage
