Wet stones on the nose with some exciting tension and then a lemon mousse flavour. Very fine bead. Nicely knit together but still with definite potential for further development. A please-all champagne. Elegant and refined, the Brut Réserve cuvée is the champagne for all occasions. The Brut Réserve is made from a blend of equal parts of the three Champagne grape varieties: pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay from 30 different vintages. On the palate, there are flavors of cooked fruit (quince jelly, apricot jam) happily side by side with fragrances of acacia honey.

Pol Roger is a renowned champagne house that has been producing high-quality champagne since 1849. The house is located in the heart of the Champagne region in France, and it is known for its elegant and refined style of champagne.

The production process at Pol Roger is meticulous and precise, with a focus on traditional methods and attention to detail. The grapes used in the production of their champagne are sourced from the best vineyards in the region, and only the finest grapes are selected for use in their blends.

The house produces a range of champagnes, including vintage and non-vintage blends, as well as rosé champagne. Their vintage champagnes are aged for a minimum of seven years, resulting in a complex and rich flavour profile. The non-vintage blends are a combination of several vintages, resulting in a consistent and reliable flavour profile year after year.

Pol Roger is also known for its Winston Churchill cuvée, which was created in honour of the famous British statesman who was a fan of the house's champagne. This cuvée is a rich and full-bodied champagne, with notes of honey, brioche, and dried fruit.

Overall, Pol Roger is a champagne house that is steeped in history and tradition, and their commitment to quality and excellence is evident in every bottle they produce. Whether you are looking for a vintage champagne to celebrate a special occasion or a reliable non-vintage blend for everyday enjoyment, Pol Roger is a producer that should not be overlooked.

In 1668, Dom Pérignon is said to have discovered how to make sparkling wine; today his technique is used the world over, although Champagne continues to make some of the finest. France’s most northerly wine region, Champagne is now home to 15,000 growers and 290 ‘houses’. A blend of grape varieties is usually required: white Chardonnay to add fruit and elegance, and two reds – Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – to provide body and backbone.
