In 2014, the sunny summer end coupled with a constant care of the vines and a drastic limitation of yields allowed the grapes to reach maturity and a sugar-acid balance close to perfection. The mineral notes, smoky and slightly iodized, are accompanied by delicious aromas of fresh fruit of citrus, guava, apple, and plum. On the palate the incomparable quality of the grapes, juicy and crunchy are accompanied by the freshness of lime, herbs, and the delicacy of pineapple. A big white already very expressive and will continue in the next 5 years to deliver. A true lesson of style and terroir.
Onshore Cellars - ICONIC Producer
Known as the ‘wild man of Pouilly’ as much for his appearance as for his ideas, Didier Dagueneau was widely recognised not only as a brilliant winemaker but also the best producer in the appellation.
“Dagueneau is one of the great winemakers of our generation.”Denis Dubourdieu, consultant to Châteaux d’Yquem, Cheval Blanc and Margaux
Unlike many winemakers, Dagueneau didn’t start his career in wine, but instead racing sidecars. Following two nasty falls, his life took on a new direction and he set out to make the best Sauvignon Blanc possible and to redeem the reputation of Pouilly-Fumé.
