Les Clans is mainly old-vine Grenache, with a splash of Rolle (Vermentino). A ripe, barrel-fermented style that sees more time in oak than most of its counterparts, it offers hints of toasted cereal grains, delicate raspberry and cherry shadings and a backdrop of white peaches and tangerines. Plump and generous, it's a bit fuller-bodied than many other Provence rosés, yet charming and silky in texture, with a long finish accented by hints of crushed stone and toasted coconut.

Château d'Esclans is a renowned winery located in the heart of Provence, France. The winery has a rich history dating back to the 19th century when it was founded by the Gautier family. Today, the winery is owned by Sacha Lichine, who has continued the tradition of producing exceptional wines.

One of the most popular wines produced by Château d'Esclans is Les Clans Rosé. This wine is made using a blend of Grenache, Rolle, and Syrah grapes, which are carefully selected from the best vineyards in the region. The grapes are harvested by hand and then sorted to ensure only the best quality fruit is used.

The production process for Les Clans Rosé is meticulous and involves a combination of traditional and modern techniques. The grapes are gently pressed to extract the juice, which is then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for several months to add complexity and depth to the flavour.

The result is a wine that is pale pink in colour with a delicate aroma of red fruits and citrus. On the palate, Les Clans Rosé is crisp and refreshing with a subtle hint of minerality. The wine has a long, elegant finish that makes it the perfect accompaniment to a wide range of dishes, from seafood to salads.

Château d'Esclans is known for its commitment to quality and sustainability. The winery uses organic and biodynamic farming practices to ensure the grapes are grown in the most natural way possible. This approach not only produces exceptional wines but also helps to protect the environment and preserve the unique terroir of the region.

Overall, Les Clans Rosé is a wine that perfectly embodies the style and quality of Château d'Esclans. It is a wine that is both elegant and complex, with a flavour profile that is sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseur.

Château d’Escalns lies in the centre of the Department of the Var, where the majority of Provence rosé is produced. The first traces of the château’s site date back to Gaullist times during which the location served as a lookout point to spot intruders coming by boat into the Gulf of Frejus. The property was bought by Sacha Lichine, son of famous Alexis Lichine who owned Château Prieuré Lichine in Margaux, in 2006 with the intention of making the world’s best rosé. Combined with the efforts of Patrick Leon, who was previously Managing Director of Mouton Rothschild, his wines have gone on to receive international acclaim.

Sacha felt that rosé had an opportunity to become more serious in addition to being served and consumed by a broader audience. Since then he has built a world class brand while providing a strong contribution to the unprecedented growth of the rosé category.

With 44 hectares under vine Esclans, is known for its old Grenache vines, some of which are as old as 90 years in the highest vineyards. In 2006, Château d’Esclans made a few barrels of rosé from an 80 year old vineyard and the flagship wine Garrus was born.
