This American whisky (not whiskey) is drier than most other Kentucky bourbons. This is due to the higher than average alcohol content (45%) and the significant percentage of wheat in addition to corn in the mashbill (the mix of cereals). This bourbon, which takes pride in being different, has particularly noticeable notes of liquorice and violets which linger seemingly endlessly.
This excellent bourbon contains a small percentage of wheat, and bears the name of one of the most charming distilleries in Kentucky. Golden colour with glints of amber; the generous nose reveals aromas of liquorice, woody-vanilla and slightly burnt, rubbery notes. The rather dry palate presents finesse as it develops flavours of dried fruit (walnuts, raisins) and plums. Long, peach-skin finish.
